Industrial Vacuum Furnace Thermocouple

These thermocouple sensors are used in industrial vacuum furnaces up to at least 1 x 10-6 mbar where temperatures up to 1600ºC are experienced, although some users have been satisfied with their performance at 5 x 10-6 mbar. Available in thermocouple types K and N with an impervious aluminous porcelain sheath or thermocouple types S and R with an impervious recrystallised alumina sheath, they have a stainless steel support tube attached to a weatherproof connection head. The sensor can then be inserted into the application with a vacuum tight sealing assembly (ref 940-161) which can be purchased separately. Please see the sealing assembly section in this catalog for more detailed specifications of the sealing assemblies. While we offer a standard selection of vacuum furnace thermocouples, due to the specialized nature of these sensors a full custom built service is available for both end users and OEM's.

• Thermocouple types K, N, S or R available
• Suitable to at least a vacuum of 1 x 10-6 mbar although use at up to 5 x 10-6 mbar is possible when used with sealing assembly ref 940-161 (see above)
• Ceramic sheath material: Type K and N, Impervious aluminous porcelain rated to 2460ºF Type S and R, Impervious recrystallised alumina rated to 2912ºF
• Ceramic sheath diameter 0.315”
• Support tube 0.5” OD x 8” long for 24” and 36” total lengths 0.5” OD x 12” long for 48” total lengths Note: These lengths are included in the total length
• Terminated in an IP67 weatherproof die cast alloy head rated to 275ºF
• Suitable for use with a 3/4" sealing assembly 940-161 which is fitted onto the support tube
